HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 23 (UPI) —
Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska are onboard to star in Disney’s live-action "Alice in Wonderland 2," the studio announced.
Disney said Friday the pair will reteam for the film, which has a May 27, 2016, release date.
James Bobin — whose directing credits include "The Muppets" and "Flight of the Conchords" — is slated to direct the feature. Joe Roth, Jennifer Todd and Suzanne Todd are producing, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.
"Alice in Wonderland" — directed by Tim Burton — was a box-office hit worldwide in 2010, grossing $1.02 billion.
