Maher: Racism Causes Obama to Restrict Press

HBO’s “Real Time” host Bill Maher argued that President Obama has cracked down on whistleblowers and the press more than President Bush because he needs to prevent a terrorist attack and if there was a terrorist attack during the Obama administration there wouldn’t be a black president for 100 years” on Friday.

After journalist James Risen argued that President Obama had been a greatest enemy of the freedom of the press and gone after more whistleblowers than any other president, Maher responded “it might also have to do something with the fact that as the first black president, he doesn’t want a terror attack on his watch, he knows they would blame him, there wouldn’t be a black president for 100 years.”
