RNC Chair Priebus: Clinton Scrubbing Email Server May Be ‘Criminal’

Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus said Hillary Clinton scrubbing her email server clean may be “criminal in nature.”

Priebus said the fact that Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) requested the emails for an ongoing Benghazi congressional inquiry when Clinton deleted everything on the server raises the issue of criminality.

“The next question would be whether there is criminal conduct involved in wiping a server clean after both the State Department told you not to, and you knew that there were lawsuits pending and on records requests that were pending,” he said. “And you had an ongoing investigation from congress for these documents. This is intentionally behavior. Which in many cases, Steve, is criminal in nature. You cannot just destroy documents when an agency is telling you to turn them over.”
