Streisand: Trump Presidency ‘Terrifyingly Scary’

In an interview with ABC News on Wednesday after receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, singer-actress Barbra Streisand weighed in on the possibility of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, both the front-runners in their respective political parties, facing off in next year’s presidential election.

Streisand told ABC News chief White House correspondent Jon Karl that she was supporting Clinton and described a Trump presidency as “terrifyingly scary.”

Exchange as follows:

KARL: So I got to ask you — you’re in the midst of one of the craziest presidential elections —

STREISAND: I was thinking, what if that was Donald Trump up there?  I couldn’t help thinking what would he say? This president is so eloquent, so dignified, so smart. And I thought —

KARL: What would it have been like if Donald Trump was the one putting the Medal of Freedom around you?

STREISAND: I probably would’ve choked It’s terrifyingly scary, but it’s funny. But scary.

KARL: What do you make of what’s going on?

STREISAND: I want Hillary Clinton to be president. We need a woman president. We need compassion. We need to have a person who comes from the heart and the brain, and experience. Experience counts.

KARL: What would it look like if Hillary Clinton were running against Donald Trump?

STREISAND: I mean, it would be like one of the greatest moments in television history. I mean, everybody would watch

KARL: The debates?

STREISAND: I can’t even imagine. I mean, I’m not worried about her.
