Sessions: Trump’s Remarks About Clinton and Obama on ISIS Have ‘a Fundamental Truth’

Monday on CNN’s “New Day,” Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) said that everybody knows President Barack Obama and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton didn’t literally found ISIS in discussing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump remarks on the campaign trail.

However, Sessions said that it was the policies of Obama and Clinton that have led to the rise of ISIS.

“Everybody knows that Clinton and Obama didn’t meet to plot the foundation of ISIS,” Sessions said. “Yeah, he stirred things up with that comment. You can say whether it was smart or not smart, but in a way it had a fundamental truth to it – that huge errors by our own administration allowed ISIS to come on the scene. It’s also got 6,000 troops and ISIS members in Libya, which Hillary Clinton overrode Secretary of Defense Gates and the military and toppled that regime. Now we have chaos and a million refugees there and Benghazi arising from it.”
