Ginsburg to Be First SCOTUS Justice to Officiate Same-Sex Wedding

On Saturday, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will become the first Supreme Court Justice to officiate at a same-sex wedding. 

The Washington Post reported that Ginsburg will “officiate at the wedding of Kennedy Center President Michael M. Kaiser and economist John Roberts.”

Ginsburg, reportedly a “close personal friend of Kaiser,” said she plans to “participate in another same-sex marriage in September” and was excited “to be the first justice to break this particular barrier.”

“I think it will be one more statement that people who love each other and want to live together should be able to enjoy the blessings and the strife in the marriage relationship,” she told the Post
