Exclusive-Laura Ingraham: Send Pro-Amnesty 'Booster of the Billionaire Class' Jeanne Shaheen Home

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — Nationally syndicated radio host Laura Ingraham told Breitbart News that incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) is hurting American workers by supporting amnesty for illegal aliens and a massive increase in legal immigration.

“At a time when 92 million Americans are out of the workforce, Jeanne Shaheen thinks we should double the amount of guest workers coming into the country–guest workers who undercut American wages and steal their jobs,” Ingraham said in an email on Friday.

Ingraham argued that Shaheen’s support for President Barack Obama’s immigration policies undercuts her favorite line of attack against former Sen. Scott Brown–that’s he too close with special interests.

“What he won’t tell you is why the Koch Brothers are spending $2.6 million to support his campaign,” Shaheen said of Brown during the last debate. “I don’t think it’s because he’s going to go down to Washington and support small businesses. I think it’s because he’s going to go to Washington and he’s going to continue to support subsidies to the big oil companies. The five biggest oil companies last year made over $90 billion and he wants to give them over $20 billion in subsidies. I don’t think that’s good for New Hampshire.”

But Ingraham said that with Shaheen’s support from Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook–who dumped a million dollars into New Hampshire to try to protect her incumbency–it’s her who’s in bed with special interests.

“New Hampshire doesn’t need another booster of the billionaire class,” Ingraham said. “New Hampshire needs an independent thinker and fighter who is not afraid to take on wrong-headed policies advocated by either party.”

Ingraham has hosted Brown on her program a few times this year and endorsed him earlier this year. This week, Ingraham hosted him again and compared what Brown is doing to Dave Brat’s upset victory over now former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Ingraham was instrumental in taking down Cantor, campaigning for Brat and being–other than Breitbart News–one of the only major media outlets to cover his campaign before he won.

“We saw what Dave Brat did to Eric Cantor,” Ingraham said. “We saw that when the race became about American opportunities first, American jobs first, American culture, American borders, American sovereignty, American opportunities. When it became about that, what happened with that race? Well, it wasn’t the only factor in Virginia, but of course it was a dominant factor in the closing days of the campaign and really the last four weeks of the campaign that’s what Dave Brat focused on in the great Commonwealth of Virginia. People listening to Brat thought, ‘oh my gosh, finally someone saying this. Why are we doing this to ourselves? Why are we turning ourselves into potentially a third world economy?'”

Brown has run as an independent-minded politician who won’t be afraid to call out either party–the Democrats’ or his own–if he’s elected. One of his major lines of attack against Shaheen has been that she, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Quarterly, voted with President Obama 99 percent of the time.

In that vein, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked Brown about how that same CQ analysis found he voted 78 percent of the time with the president in his last year in the Senate representing Massachusetts.

Brown even listed a series of bills he worked on with Democrats when he was in the Senate.

“So when we worked together with the president on an insider trading bill, my bill worked forward and we got it done,” Brown said. “I worked with Democrats to bring them over and we were at the signing ceremony. For the Hire Hero Veterans bill, the ability to get veterans jobs and give them a little tax credit. For the Arlington Cemetery bill, I worked with the Democrats to make sure our heroes were buried properly–one person in one grave, three people in another grave and body parts in a mulch pile. I think Sen. Shaheen even voted for that so there are times we were able to get it done. If you want gridlock, send Sen. Shaheen down there. If you want somebody who’s an independent problem solver who has a history of working with both sides–and has also been named and can be referenced as the most bipartisan senator in the United States Senate–then I’m your guy.”
