Top Democratic donors say Hillary Clinton is building a money machine so large and so impressive that it will smash previous fundraising records, intimidate rivals, and crush the eventual Republican presidential nominee.
“It’s going to be like nothing you’ve seen,” a top Democratic donor told The Hill. “The numbers will be astounding.”
Obama finance committee member and real estate executive Don Peebles says the smart and connected Democratic money will flow to Hillary.
“The floodgates are going to open immediately, and there’s going to be a rush to get on the team,” said Peebles.
Peebles added, “There’s nobody in the Democratic Party who can match her. Not even close.”
In addition to building a robust campaign war chest, Team Clinton is also said to be embarking on a massive technology plan to crush Democratic challengers and defeat the eventual Republican nominee. Even GOP strategists concede that Hillary’s team is “leaps and bounds” ahead in erecting its digital fortress for the 2016 presidential race.
Clinton will also be helped by the fact that, unlike the Republican primary, the Democratic primary will likely feature fewer competitive candidates who will force her to spend money early on expensive television and digital advertising.
The 2016 presidential election takes place in 656 days on Nov. 8.
