The Republican National Committee had an April Fools’ message for the Clinton Foundation, slyly highlighting the Clintons’ total lack of transparency over their big-money donor list.

In a Wednesday press release, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus applauded the Clinton Foundation for strictly adhering to their ethics agreement with the Obama Administration regarding foreign donations.

“I want to applaud the Clinton Foundation for adhering to the letter and spirit of their ethics agreement with the Obama Administration,” Priebus wrote in the statement. “Given the Clintons’ long history of scandal and shady dealings, one might have expected them to try to keep foreign donations secret–or to accept donations from countries with human rights violations. Instead they went above and beyond, immediately disclosing all potential conflicts of interest for the American people to see. Now that’s what transparency is all about.”

But the statement had a codicil.

“*We just wish this were true. Happy April Fools Day!”

The Clinton Foundation has been under constant fire for its lack of transparency after news emerged that the foundation was taking millions in donations from companies with close ties to foreign governments while Hillary Clinton served as Barack Obama’s Secretary of State.

Since that news broke, the foundation has failed to disclose contributors.

Hillary has been under fire for years over her utter lack of transparency.
