Co-chairman of the Bipartisan Congressional Pro-Life Caucus Rep. Chris Smith reacted to an investigative video released Tuesday by pro-life group Center for Medical Progress. The video depicted Planned Parenthood’s chief medical officer speaking about how to abort a baby intact in order to be able to harvest its body parts for sale.
“We have known for a long time that Planned Parenthood is Child Abuse Incorporated,” said Smith, a Republican from New Jersey, in a statement to Breitbart News. “The shocking video released today revealing Planned Parenthood’s engagement in selling baby body parts demands a response from Congress, and we will provide one.”
“Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider, wounding women and profiting off of the death of children, first by dismembering unborn children and then by selling their organs piece by piece,” Smith added. “This horrific abuse must stop.”
Smith was sponsor of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2015, which passed the House in January.
“The fact that Planned Parenthood performs upwards of 327,000 abortions a year is heartbreaking and barbaric enough on its own,” Rep. Diane Black (R-TN) also said in a statement to Breitbart News. “The news that its employees engaged in the selling of aborted babies’ body parts is almost too much to bear and shows that Planned Parenthood’s disregard for innocent human life was even worse than we imagined.”
“Now that we are armed with further proof of the evils of Planned Parenthood, Congress must pass my legislation – The Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act –so that we can cut off this agency’s largest stream of federal funding without delay,” Black added.
Rep. Tim Huelskamp also tweeted out a reaction to the investigative video.

Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana also announced Tuesday in the wake of the release of the video that he is directing his state’s Department of Health and Hospitals to launch an investigation into Planned Parenthood.
“Today’s video of a Planned Parenthood official discussing the systematic harvesting and trafficking of human body parts is shocking and gruesome,” Jindal, a Republican presidential contender, said in a statement.
Jindal added that he has instructed his state’s Department of Health and Hospitals to conduct an investigation into the trafficking of aborted baby body parts. The governor said he has ordered a halt to any licenses for the new Planned Parenthood abortion facility in New Orleans until his state’s investigation is completed, and called upon the FBI to assist with that investigation.
