Amid a criminal investigation, lawsuits, plummeting stock prices and a bleak outlook moving forward, Volkswagen executives partied big with Lenny Kravitz in New York City this week.
Page Six reports Kravitz and his band performed a one-hour set at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for a lavish party that was being thrown for the release of the 2016 Volkswagen Passat on Monday.
The “Fly Away” singer was reportedly paid $500 thousand by the company, which had admitted hours before to using computer software in its diesel cars to deceive American emissions regulators.

The company’s top American executive, CEO Michael Horn, reportedly addressed the scandal to guests, by echoing a previous apology.
Horn said Volkswagen was “deeply sorry.”
According to Page Six, “attractive servers” treated the the party’s 400 guests to drinks from numerous open bars, as well as Bavarian sausages, shrimp on cornbread, hamburgers, and doughnuts.
One VW employee got onstage and began twerking, according to a person at the event.
By Tuesday, Lenny Kravitz had distanced himself from the company’s wild party.
A rep for the singer told Page Six, “Lenny of course had no idea about this issue. The show was booked months ago, and he would not have been affiliated with the event had he known.”
Kravitz’s daughter, model and actress Zoe Kravitz, also attended the party, which reportedly cost Volkswagen more than $1 million.
CNNMoney reports Volkswagen could face more than $18 billion dollars in fines.
CEO Martin Winterkorn resigned on Wednesday.
