A top surrogate for self-avowed socialist Senator Bernie Sanders is slamming outspoken Hillary supporter and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, saying Warren hasn’t done enough for the progressive cause.

As Warren has ramped up her personal attacks on presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, many have touted her as the standard bearer for the progressive wing of the Democrat Party. But influential former Ohio State Senator Nina Turner is not impressed.

In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s Steele and Unger program, Turner insisted the Bostonian usually seen as one of the most far-left members of Congress isn’t doing enough for progressives.

According to The Hill, Turner said, “It’s easy for Democrats to attack Mr. Trump. You don’t get any brownie points from me and other progressives for getting into a Twitter war with Mr. Donald Trump. That’s easy.”

“But when the fight was hard for Sen. Bernie Sanders, where was Sen. Warren?” she added.

Like many progressives, Turner feels that if Warren were being true to the progressive cause, the Massachusetts Senator would have aligned herself with Sanders and not Hillary, as she only recently did.

“They’re gonna attack me for saying this, but I’m a truth-teller at this point,” Turner concluded.

Turner herself was expected to fall in line for Hillary Clinton but late last year did an about face and announced her support of Senator Sanders instead.

The former Ohio state pol had been expected to throw her weight behind Hillary to lend the former Secretary of State some much needed African American support. But after much wooing by team Clinton, Turner said she was more attracted to Sanders.

“I’m very attracted by his message and his style—and that he has held pretty much strong on his beliefs and the world is catching up with him,” Turner told the Cleveland Plain Dealer last November.

Turner also felt “insulted” by the Clinton campaign.

“I was approached by a Clinton supporter who said that I am doing a disservice to the country,” Turner told the paper. “It was very insulting.”
