Authorities in several counties surrounding Tallahassee, Florida, have arrested and charged a couple with paying for drugs for the last 13 years by prostituting a child.

Kevin Wyatt, 47, and Celeste Chambers, 36, were arrested after investigations had been launched in Gadsden, Leon, and Franklin Counties.

The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) charged the couple with pimping out a young girl for 13 years, starting when she was only three years old.

GCSO Sgt. Angelie Hightower told the media that the child “was subjected to a whole bunch of stuff” in comments made after the arrest of the alleged offenders.

According to court documents, suspect Celeste Chambers faces seven counts of human trafficking in Leon County.

Leon County court documents state that the child was offered to “adult men for sexual activity in exchange for drugs, intentionally inflicting physical or mental injury.”

The Miami Herald reported that Chambers pleaded not guilty to a long list of charges, including “sexual battery on a child under 12 by an adult; lewd or lascivious molestation; lewd or lascivious conduct; lewd or lascivious battery; lewd or lascivious exhibition; child abuse; and human trafficking by a parent, legal guardian or custodian.”

Chambers will next appear in court on January 2.

Suspect Kevin Wyatt was captured this month in Franklin County hiding on a houseboat near the Apalachicola River. Deputies reported that he was discovered after a tip led them to his location.
