Jim Carrey is truly sorry for firing off so many vile comments at defenders of the Second Amendment–months after his vulgar words first made national news.
Carrey grabbed headlines earlier this year with a series of nasty, anti-gun tweets as well as a music video mocking the late Charlton Heston for his support of gun rights.
This weekend, Carrey claims to have seen the error of his ways.

Carrey sent out a volley of vicious tweets against gun owners March 24. He released his Cold Dead Hand video the following day which accused the late Heston of playing a role in recent gun-related deaths.
Last month, the comic actor spoke out against his own film, the upcoming Kick-Ass 2, saying he now thinks its level of violence is unacceptable. The original Kick-Ass feature rocked Hollywood with its unabashed mayhem and use of a pre-teen in deadly fighting sequences, so the sequel’s tone could hardly come as a surprise.
Carrey’s once-hot career has cooled considerably. His supporting turn in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone couldn’t stop the comedy from tanking, and he’s had trouble getting the long-awaited sequel to the hit Dumb and Dumber off the ground. Plus, his Kick-Ass 2 comments earned bad notices across the entertainment press. Will he soon apologize to his cast mates on that sequel for abandoning all the hard work they committed to that project?
