In Mortal Kombat: Perez Hilton vs. Lady Gaga

It’s a battle between media celebrities, and it’s getting uglier.

Gossip blogger Perez Hilton and singer Lady Gaga used to be close, or as close as a blogger and singer could be. Now, they exchange heated rhetoric via social media, the kind with ALL CAPS and other exclamatory flourishes.

The LA Times says the bad blood began boiling when Hilton critiqued the singer’s song Applause. The relationship went south from there.

Now, the two are arguing over housing space in New York City and potential threats from their respective fan bases. Said fans are taking their cues from their media idols.

Hilton recently announced that he was relocating his family from Los Angeles to New York. Apparently he went house hunting in the Big Apple this weekend, when Gaga said fans tipped her off about him viewing an apartment in her building. That’s when she lost it and lashed out on Twitter on Sunday.

“@perezhilton STAY AWAY FROM ME + MY FAMILY YOU ARE SICK TRYING TO RENT AN APARTMENT IN MY BUILDING TO STALK ME. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!” she wrote in tweets that have since been deleted.

“DO I NEED TO BE SHOT IT IN THE HEAD FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT HIM AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT HARASSES ME HAS GONE TOO FAR? IM A HUMAN BEING“
