'Bible' Spin-Off 'Son of God' to Hit Theaters in February

The creative team behind the TV smash The Bible is recutting that historic miniseries into a feature film to debut next year.

Son of God, which will feature footage from the miniseries along with never before seen material, will be released in theaters nationwide Feb. 28, 2014.

The film will span Jesus’s birth through his “teachings, crucifixion and ultimate resurrection,” according to the film’s press materials.

The Bible, produced by Roma Downey and Mark Burnett of Survivor fame, earned three Emmy Award nominations and became the number one cable telecast of the year.
