Liberal Rolling Stone Goes Country

Rolling Stone magazine covers a breadth of music, but its editorial content skews dramatically to the left. Country music, on the other hand, is arguably the most traditionalist genre around–read: conservative.

Now, the veteran magazine is reaching out to country music fans through a new web site dubbed RollingStoneCountry.com.

The online destination continues the magazine’s work of covering the genre, but now it can do so with a more focused approach.

Rolling Stone has always chronicled country: Cash, Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, Kris Kristofferson, Brooks, Shania Twain and Taylor Swift have all been on our cover. This year, we opened our first Nashville office, and we’ll dive deeper than ever in our website’s daily coverage and in the pages of the magazine.

The site’s current front page is apolitical save an article showcasing country crooner Brad Paisley poking fun at the Westboro Baptist Church crowd.
