Emma Watson gave a speech about gender inequality this weekend, and now 4chan, an image-based social media platform that’s open to the public for commentary and photo sharing, is reportedly threatening to leak nude photographs of the actress because she’s a feminist.
The UN Goodwill ambassador very publicly asked men to support women through her new “HeForShe” campaign, and this is how they responded.
“It is real and going to happen this weekend. That feminist bitch Emma is going to show the world she is as much of a whore as any woman,” wrote a 4chan commenter.
Cyber misogynists decided that Watson must be punished for her theory that “men and women should have equal rights and opportunity.”
“She makes stupid feminist speeches at UN, and now her nudes will be online, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH,” threatened another.
The internet trolls even went so far as to set up an official countdown website called “EmmaYouAreNext.com“.
Watson seemingly made herself vulnerable to thousands of attacks by men after she reached out for their advocacy towards equality for women.
“If men don’t have to control, women won’t have to be controlled,” the British actress declared at the United Nations headquarters.
