GRATITUDE: J-Law Flips the Bird on Thanksgiving

Jennifer Lawrence certainly wasn’t thankful for paparazzi on Thanksgiving.

The Oscar-winning actress (and soon-to-be-director) flipped off the camera while stepping out in New York City on Thursday.

Lawrence has flipped the bird at photographers a few times recently, including at the Oscars immediately after winning the Best Actress award for Silver Linings Playbook. But this time, her dog Pippi also looks particularly unamused.

Lawrence returned recently from an international press tour for her latest film, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2. Maybe that’s why she’s upset: the film received disappointing reviews and came in well below expectations at the box office, earning a just-enough-to-not-be-considered-disastrous $102 million in its opening weekend, a new low for the hit franchise. With Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur and Rocky spinoff Creed opening this weekend, the prospects for any sustained box office dominance appear dim.

Lawrence will look to rebound with her next film, Joy, set for release on Christmas Day. But with her recent derogatory comments about Christians and fierce competition from a half-dozen other highly-anticipated releases, the box office numbers for Joy could be similarly bleak.
