Singer John Legend says Attorney General Jeff Sessions should resign after the former senator’s meeting in September with the Russian ambassador became headline news.

“He should’ve never been attorney general in the first place,” Legend told a TMZ reporter in Beverly Hills this week. “He doesn’t care about justice. He has got a history of racism and trying to deny black people the right to vote. Hopefully he’ll resign, and they’ll replace him with someone better.”

Asked if he believes there was “any sketchiness with Russia,” Legend said, “Absolutely. Of course, that’s why they are lying about it.”

Echoing comments he made earlier this week, the Grammy-winner said he doesn’t think Trump will last four years as president.

In a recent interview with Fault magazine, Legend said: “Hopefully ‘Trump’s America’ won’t last very long and we get him out of here within the next four years.”

The ten-time Grammy-winning singer has been a fierce critic of Trump since well before Election Day. He’s previously called Trump a racist and compared him to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Legend — who performed at an all-star concert in support of Hillary Clinton in June — has also criticized Trump’s supporters, at one time comparing them to people who allowed slavery to occur in the 1800s without realizing it was an evil practice.
