According to a report by HBO, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump promised and failed to deliver Scotland on what he deemed “the world’s greatest golf course.”
Set to air tonight on HBO’s “Real Sports,” Alex Salmond, the former First Minister of Scotland, tells HBO’s Bernard Goldberg how Trump promised the great golf course, housing and thousands of jobs to help turn Scotland into a tourist attraction, only to under-deliver on his promises.
“It’s not really for us to determine whether America elects a Democrat or a Republican, a left-winger or a right-winger, that’s up to the people of America. But the choice between sanity and insanity, that’s a different choice altogether. That involves the world,” Salmond said.
According to Salmond, Trump is not thought of very highly in Scotland, saying he “couldn’t get elected the dogcatcher” there.
