On this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” Attorney General Loretta Lynch said there was no conflict of interest in the investigation into how presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton handled classified information on her private email server during her tenure as secretary of state because of President Barack Obama ‘s endorsement of Clinton for president.
When asked about a conflict of interest, Lynch said, “Well, I don’t get involved in whom the president endorses or comments on any of the candidates. The investigation into the State Department is going to be handled like any other matter. You have career agency lawyers looking into that and they will follow that where it leads and come to a conclusion.”
She continued, “It’s not for me or anyone in the department. We will do the work the same way that we have for the American people first and foremost.”
She added , “I have never spoken with it at the White House or the president. That’s not the relationship that I have with people and it would be inappropriate to do that.”
