Dem Rep Gallego: Trump Has ‘No Respect’ for the First Amendment – WWE Tweet ‘Could Cause a Lot of Mayhem’

On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” Representative Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) stated President Trump’s WWE tweet shows that he has no respect for the First Amendment and could lead to “mayhem” in terms of threats against the media.

Gallego said, “[T]he message he’s trying to send is that he has no respect for the fourth estate and for the First Amendment. What he’s trying to do is basically spread fear of our journalists and could cause a lot of mayhem when it comes to, you know, the threats that could potentially come to our fourth estate. This is just very irresponsible for somebody who’s supposed to uphold the Constitution of the United States, and part of that, obviously, is a free and independent press.”
