ESPN’s Michelle Beadle Calls for Texans Players to Have a ‘Walkout’ Over Owner’s ‘Inmates Running the Prison’ Comments

ESPN “SportsNation” co-host Michelle Beadle called for Houston Texans players to have “walkout” Friday after team owner Bob McNair reportedly botched the idiom “inmates running the asylum” by saying “inmates running the prison” when talking about the National Anthem kneelers.

“What should happen right now?” ESPN’s Marcellus Wiley asked about the situation.

Beadle immediately responded, “Walkout, everybody.”

She later explained that the players have “all the power in the world” because the owners would just be left waiting.

Co-host LZ Granderson noted, “It’s one thing to be the owner of a private business with employees. It’s another thing to have an attitude in which you think you own the employees.”

“That’s where the players do have the leverage and the power — if they chose to unite and walk out,” Beadle replied. “They would have all the power in the world because then these owners are left having meetings to talk about nothing. They’re all just waiting. I don’t think it will happen, but it could.”
