WaPo’s Robinson: If Obama Had Done One Day of Trump’s Presidency ‘He Would Be So Impeached’

Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Washington Post columnist and MSNBC contributor Eugene Robinson suggested that if former President Barack Obama had lived through one day in office acting as President Donald Trump has then “he would be so impeached.”

Host Joe Scarborough first floated on the show that if Obama had lied about calls with the Chinese and then his staff admitted to lying to try to sway the markets then impeachment proceedings would start, which Robinson took a step further, saying Obama would not have made it one day acting as Trump.

“Well, here we are once again now saying, if Barack Obama had lied about calls with the Chinese and the next day his staff admitted that they lied to try to sway markets, impeachment proceedings would start,” Scarborough stated. “‘Mr. Speaker, you’ve weakened our trust. The words of the president of the United States and the good people of this country, it’s market manipulation. Market manipulation, I tell you!’ I’m telling you, impeachment proceedings would begin that very day. And here, they’re going, ‘Oh, wait, OK, so he admitted he’s lying, but I’m not even going to admit that they admitted he was lying.'”

Robinson replied, “Look, if Barack Obama had done like one day’s worth of the Trump presidency, he would be so impeached. He would have been so, you know? They would have gone absolutely crazy.”
