Variety reports that Pope Francis has canceled a “would-be meet and greet” with “Noah” star Russell Crowe, director Darren Aronofsky, and a suit from Paramount. Apparently the meeting was scheduled for Wednesday morning and would have involved a “figurative” blessing of the tent-pole film, which is scheduled for release March 28.
A source told Variety that the Vatican canceled over fears the news would get out in advance “causing a spectacle” in Rome.
