Surviving Pink Floyd band members David Gilmour, Roger Waters, and Nick Mason united to release a joint statement in support of the all-female crew of activists who were arrested this week while attempting to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza.

The three remaining members of the legendary British rock band reunited to rally behind the Women’s Boat to Gaza, in which a group of activists set sail from Barcelona, Spain en route to Gaza last month. The trip was sponsored by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, an outfit which staunchly opposes Israel’s so-called “siege of Gaza.”

Earlier this week, the Women’s Boat was intercepted by Israeli Navy officers who arrested the crew.

“David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Roger Waters stand united in support of the Women of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, and deplore their illegal arrest and detention in international waters by the Israeli Defense Force,” Pink Floyd wrote in a Facebook message tilted, “Pink Floyd reunites to stand with the Women of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla.”

Waters has spent much of the last decade campaigning for pro-Palestinian causes.

In 2005, the rock star joined in support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel over its so-called occupation of Palestinian territories. He has repeatedly called on musicians to cancel scheduled concerts in Israel.

In February, Waters said Palestine “is an ancient, brilliant, artistic and very humane civilization that is being destroyed in front of our eyes.”

And earlier this week, the 73-year-old posted a video to show support for the flotilla.

Waters has also weighed in on American politics.

Last September, the singer said Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is “the epitome of anything that might be considered bad” and “entrepreneurship gone wrong.”

But a month later, he offered a more harsh assessment of Democrat Hillary Clinton: “I have an awful worry that she might become the first woman president to drop a f*cking nuclear bomb on somebody.”
