CA Gas Prices Set to Spike to $4.25

The average gasoline price in California may hit $4.25 per gallon in the next week. The ostensible reasons given are lower supplies and the increase in crude oil costs.

Because corn prices are rising along with the increase in rail shipping, the cost of ethanol has risen almost 60% this year.

California, with a current average of $4.01 per gallon of gas, is chasing the dubious honor of being the state with the highest gasoline prices.

Hawaii currently averages $4.27 per gallon. The national average is $3.55 per gallon.

Montana has the cheapest gas; the state averages $3.26 per gallon.
