A female (“nanny”) goat with an apparent caffeine fix wandered into a Rohnert Park, California Starbucks early Sunday morning before public safety officials were able to capture and take it to a local animal shelter, where it was reunited with its owners.

According to local ABC News affiliate ABC 7, around 5:12 a.m., public safety officials responded to a report that the goat was found roaming around Wolf Den Plaza in Rohnert Park, which is located abut 50 miles north of San Francisco.

The 11-year-old nanny goat, named Milly, then wandered into the Starbucks. According to the Associated Press, employees who were opening the Starbucks tried to give the goat a banana, but the animal kept walking into the coffee shop and started chewing on a box.

“When we heard, we thought she was a little crazy,” goat owner Alan Ergenbright, 12, told the Santa Rose Press Democrat. “She’s a really happy and sweet goat. She’s also pretty curious.”

The City of Rohnert Park Police & Fire posted a message to their Facebook page about the incident:”Imagine our dispatcher’s surprise when she received a couple of calls early this morning advising there was a goat roaming around Wolf Den Plaza… more specifically, the goat apparently needed a caffeine fix and had wandered INTO the Wolf Den Starbucks.”

The owners reportedly said they would be building a fence to prevent their curious creature from wandering off again.
