Israel Raids Palestinian Media Outlet Over Incitement

Israel Hayom reports:

An Islamic Jihad-affiliated media outlet urging Palestinians to carry out terrorist attack has been taken off the air, a Shin Bet security agency statement revealed Friday

The order to shut down the Ramallah-based Falastin al-Yom outlet, which maintains a television station, as well as Facebook and Twitter accounts, followed a Diplomatic-Security Cabinet decision to aggravate counterterrorism measures, including enforcement against Palestinian media outlets that incite violence.

The TV station’s offices were raided by IDF and Shin Bet forces on Friday. The troops confiscated its equipment, and its manager, Faruk Aliat, 34, from Bir Zeit, was arrested and taken in for questioning.

Aliat, a known Islamic Jihad member, was imprisoned in Israel in the past after he was conviction of affiliation with the terrorist group.
