Biden Overestimates Troop Numbers in Afghanistan

How many times can Joe Biden lie and get away with it? Can you say infinity? Can you say google?

This time Biden spoke in front of the New Hampshire State House in Concord. In an attempt to exaggerate the percentage of the military that is part of the 47% that Mitt Romney said would vote for Barack Obama no matter what, etc., Biden made up a number for the troops in Afghanistan:

By the way, those dependent people he refers to, those 47 percent, they include the 650,000 troops still left in Afghanistan who, because they are in combat, being shot at, injured, they do not have to pay any federal income tax on their salary. I don’t call that dependency. I call that ingratitude to not recognize they are a part of that 47 percent.

How much did Biden exaggerate? Oh …. just a little.

The true number of troops is 68,000. That little hyperbole by Biden made it seem as if there were ten times the number of troops reflected in Romney’s statement.

But Biden is only marching in lockstep with his boss; Obama admitted he lies at will for the sake of the campaign.

Biden got away with lying incessantly during the 2008 debates. This time, Paul Ryan should call him on it every time. It’s about time that Obama and Biden were called exactly what they are: charlatans who are always playing shell games with Americans.

Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice … shame on us.
