France to Use 75% Tax Rate to Cover 100% of Abortion Costs

The French government used to reimburse approximately 75% of the costs of abortions for its citizens. Under a proposed 75% tax on the “super rich,” the government will cover 100% of the procedure’s costs.

This change to full reimbursement was included in the social security budget unveiled Monday.

Although French President François Hollande had already pledged that every major hospital in France will perform abortions, he put forward the 100% coverage because its considered a “necessary” part of “[ensuring] all women have equal access to abortion.”

Note the inevitable conclusion of liberal governance — “equal access” to abortion means 100% public subsidization of the procedure.
