Obama, Erdogan Want Middle East Peace

As Israel defends herself from Hamas’ rockets, Obama and Turkish PM Tayyip Erdogan are suddenly worried about the Middle East peace process.

According to a White House spokesperson, when Obama and Erdogan spoke on Friday, “The two leaders shared their concerns about the dangers to the civilian populations on both sides and expressed their common desire to see an end to the violence.”

The White House remained technically tied to their earlier statements blaming Hamas for escalating the violence, and Erdogan remained faithful in his support of Hamas.

But both men “agreed that the continued spiral of violence jeopardizes prospects for a durable, lasting peace in the region.”
