April 2 (UPI) — A Scottish woman has started using a variety of food products to call attention to some of her neighbors’ unappetizing habits of not picking up after their dogs.
Theresa Ritchie has started decorating the left-behind dog poo with strawberries and cream, and on some occasions, Nutella.
Ritchie wants dog owners in Peterhead to know that someone is aware of what they are doing, or rather, not doing.
“People in Peterhead are regularly stepping on dog mess on the pavements,” Ritchietold the Evening Express. “I wanted to highlight the problem in an amusing way.”
Theresa is a member of Pick Up Peterhead, a local group dedicated to being an “ACTIVE litter picking group where members ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING regarding litter problems and dog fouling around our town of Peterhead.”
According to Ritchie, the dog messes are sometimes left on the streets for eight weeks.
“This shows people are watching dog owners who can’t be bothered to clean up after their pets,” Ritchie said. “The food idea has showed that dog poo wasn’t being cleaned up by the council.”
