At least 126 dead in Lake Victoria ferry disaster: Tanzanian minister

Nairobi (AFP) – At least 126 people died in Lake Victoria’s ferry disaster, Tanzania’s transport minister said Friday, as the search for survivors continued.

“We are sad to report there are 126 dead,” Transport Minister Isack Kamwele told state television, adding that an update would be provided at 6pm local time (1500 GMT).
