Bodies of 3 men found on train tracks at London station

June 18 (UPI) — British authorities are trying to figure out exactly how three men were apparently killed by a commuter train in London Monday morning, officials said.

British Transport Police said the men’s bodies were found on the tracks at the city’s Loughborough Junction.

BTP Supt. Matt Allingham said the bodies were spotted by a train operator who said the men were already dead before his train arrived at the junction.

Authorities say the injuries indicated all three were hit by a train.

“We’re still trying to identify the train that actually hit the individuals,” Allingham said.

The men, all in their 20s, were not immediately identified.

“Our investigation is focusing on how and why the men came to be on the tracks,” police said. “We are aware that there are a number of speculative comments about this on social media, but it is too early for us to comment on their reasons for being on the track.”

“My heart goes out to the families of the three people killed at Loughborough Junction station this morning,” London Mayor Sadiq Khan said.
