Ottawa (AFP) – Canada must “keep calm and carry on” in negotiations to try to reach a deal on a revamped continental trade pact after diplomatic relations with the US unexpectedly nosedived, Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland said Tuesday.
“From day one, we have said that we expected moments of drama and that we would keep calm and carry on throughout this drama,” said Freeland, ahead of a trip to Washington to try to salvage the North American Free Trade Agreement.
