Feb. 10 (UPI) — 1-2 Special released the trailer for Erupcja on Tuesday. The film opens April 17.
Charli XCX and Will Madden star as an engaged couple whose Warsaw, Poland trip is extended when a volcano erupts. She visits an old friend (Lena Góra).
The trailer suggests the two women cause volcanic eruptions when they are together. Charli XCX and Góra cowrote the film with director Pete Ohs. Jeremy O. Harris also stars.
Erupcja premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. It will also screen at the upcoming South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
Charli XCX appeared in three films at January’s Sundance Film Festival. In The Moment, which opened Jan. 31, she played herself in a mockumentary.
In The Gallerist, she played the girlfriend of an influencer whose death an art gallery is trying to cover up. In I Want Your Sex, she played a medical student so focused on her studies she was not interested in sex.
At the Sundance premiere of The Moment, she spoke about the three films as a way to pivot from Brat Summer. She also composed the soundtrack to Wuthering Heights.
