Comcast places higher bid than Fox in Sky blind auction

London (United Kingdom) (AFP) – US cable giant Comcast has placed a higher bid than Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox in Saturday’s blind auction for European TV operator Sky, the British takeover regulator said.

Comcast’s bid of £17.28 per Sky ordinary share values Sky at £30.4 billion ($39.7 billion, 33.8 billion euros). Fox’s highest offer was worth £27.6 billion, Britain’s Takeover Panel said in a statement.
