‘Critical’ for NATO alllies to meet defence spending pledges: Pompeo

Brussels (AFP) – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday accused Germany of not doing enough to meet its NATO defence spending commitments, saying it was “critical” all allies lived up to their promises.

Asked if Germany was doing enough to hit the NATO target of spending two percent of GDP on defence, Pompeo said: “No. They should meet the goals that they agreed to.”
