Ecuador opens ‘humanitarian corridor’ for Venezuelans on the move

Quito (AFP) – Ecuador has opened a “humanitarian corridor” to allow buses carrying hundreds of Venezuelan migrants to reach the Peruvian border before new restrictions on entry go into force Saturday.

Ecuadoran Interior Minister Mauro Toscanini said there were currently 35 busloads of migrants on the “humanitarian corridor” opened across Ecuador to Peru.

“We are going to continue as long as we can,” he said.
