France to take in some Lifeline rescue ship migrants: Macron

Rome (AFP) – France will be one of six European countries to take in migrants from the NGO rescue ship Lifeline which has been stranded for days in the Mediterranean, French President Emmanuel Macron announced Tuesday.

Each country will take “a few dozen individuals” of the 233 migrants on board the vessel off Malta’s coast, Macron said at a press conference after talks with Pope Francis in the Vatican.
