Los Angeles (AFP) – Blake Griffin tallied 30 points as the Detroit Pistons had half a dozen players in double figure scoring in a 120-115 overtime win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

Griffin had a chance to win the game in regulation but missed a jump shot at the buzzer.

The Pistons scored the first four points of overtime, but Terrence Ross answered with a pair of three-pointers. Both teams struggled to score after that.

Trailing by two, 117-115, the Magic called a timeout with 42 seconds left. Nikola Vucevic missed a hook shot, and Griffin made a layup to give Detroit a four-point lead.

Andre Drummond finished with 14 points and 21 rebounds for the Pistons, who won for just the third time in 11 games.

Vucevic and Ross each scored 24 points for Orlando, who are 2-0 after stumbling through a four-game losing streak.

The Magic rallied from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter to tie it 107-107 on a Vucevic basket with 2:14 left.

D.J. Augustin followed with a layup to put Orlando ahead, and the teams went scoreless on their next possessions.

Drummond’s tip-in tied the game at 109-109, and Vucevic missed a jumper with 20 seconds to go.

Griffin ran down the clock, but missed the potential game winner.

The Magic shot 67 percent from the floor in the first half, but the Pistons were able to keep the score tight at 63-58 as Griffin scored 12.
