March 2 (UPI) — Malachi Barton and Freya Skye will reprise their roles as Victor and Nova in the Disney Channel Movie Zombies 5, a press release states.
A title and release date has not yet been announced, but production is slated for spring.
“Zombies has become a defining franchise for the current generation. With each movie, we intentionally push the story somewhere new. Introducing mermaids in Zombies 5 opens up a completely different dynamic, while staying true to the music, characters and themes of unity and acceptance that are at the heart of these films,” said Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis in a statement.
The upcoming film will follow the mermaids’s arrival in Rayburn, disrupting the fragile peace between the Daywalkers and Vampires, an official description reads.
Zombies 4 amassed 9.3 million views within nine days.
Swayam Bhatia, Julian Lerner and Mekonnen Knife also return, while Diaana Babnicova, Taylor Oliver, Olive Mortimer, Emily Costtrici will join the cast for the upcoming film.
