ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 15 (UPI) — The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command has given $20 million in orders for radios to modernize defense force communications.
The orders, under the Foreign Military Sales program, are for several unidentified Middle East and North African Nations.
Harris said it will provide its Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System vehicular radios for the orders. The SINCGAR system provides real-time mobile command-and-control of armored assets over secure voice and data communication links.
“The Harris radio communication systems offer robust command-and-control capabilities and will serve as a force multiplier for front-line, armored vehicles,” said Chris Young, president, Harris Communication Systems.
The value the orders and other details were not disclosed. More than 30 countries are using the Harris system.
