Pink Night event showcases Batman, Lions bras

FLINT, Mich., Oct. 3 (UPI) —

Bras inspired by Batman, the Detroit Lions and construction helmets were among the items auctioned off at a Michigan bar’s breast cancer charity event.

The Pink Night event Thursday at Blackstone’s Pub & Grill in Flint hosted a fashion show and auction for custom-made bras that raised funds for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.

The auctioned bras included brassieres inspired by superhero Batman, local heroes the Detroit Lions, construction hard hats, cupcakes and owl eyes. The bras were all designed by teams from local businesses.

"[They used] a lot of rhinestones, a lot of bling, and feathers. But there are some really unique ones," Tracey Ledford, manager at Sorrento’s and one of the heads of the Pink Night fashion show told MLive. "A lot of people were creative this year."

It was not yet known Friday whether the Pink Night event, which also included a silent auction for other items, met its $55,000 fundraising goal.
