US regulators approve Disney-Fox deal, require some asset sales

New York (AFP) – US antitrust regulators cleared Disney’s proposed $71.3 billion purchase of key 21st Century Fox assets on Wednesday, but required Disney to divest 22 regional sports networks.

The conditional approval by the US Department of Justice moves Disney’s proposed buyout one step closer to completion after the entertainment giant last week raised its bid in response to a challenge from Comcast.
