‘Vought Rising’ first look shows Jensen Ackles in ‘The Boys’ prequel

May 22 (UPI) — Prime Video is giving a glimpse of the new series Vought Rising.

The streaming service shared a first look teaser for the show Friday featuring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash.

Vought Rising is a prequel to The Boys, which concluded Wednesday after a five-season run on Prime Video. The show takes place in the 1950s and explores “the twisted origins of Vought International,” according to a press release.

Set in the same world as the Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson comic book series that inspired The Boys, Vought Rising centers on a younger Soldier Boy (Ackles) and Stormfront (Cash).

Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri and Brian J. Smith also star.

The Boys also inspired the spinoff Gen V, which aired for two seasons.
