Woman’s billboard seeks Valentine’s reunion with ‘yellow shoes guy’

Feb. 14 (UPI) — A New York woman is hoping a billboard painted on a Brooklyn building will bring her a Valentine’s Day connection with a man she saw on a subway train.

Devin Custalow said she started by posting a Missed Connections ad on Craigslist hoping to find the man she made eye contact with on the G train.

“If you want to see someone again, you have to do something about it,” Custalow told WABC-TV. “He had black shaggy hair and brown eyes, was about my age and just, he was cute.”

Custalow said she never spoke to the man when they briefly met in October.

“We kept making eye contact from a distance and throughout the ride, he kept moving closer and closer,” she said.

Custalow said she was separated from the man while they were both making their way to a shuttle bus in Bed-Stuy. She said the man made it onto the shuttle, but she arrived just in time to see the doors close.

She said the man appeared to be looking for her on the bus as it pulled away.

“I saw the doors close, and he looked back,” she said.

Custalow’s post seeking the “yellow shoes guy on the G train” captured the attention of Las Vegas hotel Park MGM, which paid for her Craigslist ad to be painted as a mural billboard on the side of a Williamsburg, Brooklyn, building.

The ad calls on the man to meet Custalow at the billboard at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Park MGM said it will livesteam video from the scene so curious parties can see how the situation plays out.

“This is not meant to come across creepy. This is just following up on a really cool and impactful interaction,” Custalow told ABC News. “This is still lingering with me.”
