For a brief shining moment, the rule of law prevailed in Illinois. On Thursday, the Illinois Supreme Court put a swift end to that, overruling the Appellate Court and determining that, notwithstanding the actual law, Rahm Emaneul is eligible to run for mayor. The law, it seems, is merely a ‘suggestion’.
